qbrobotics received the ‘HORIZON’ mention in the 7th Solution Award, which took place in Bologna during MECSPE 2022.

The ROBOTIC INNOVATION PRIZE  is the award for the best industrial or service robotics application made by Italian companies.

The HORIZONS section is special mention reserved for prototypes and experimental innovations in robotics, new devices or new technologies with high potential for future applications or new areas of robotics.

qbrobotics has been nominated for the prestigious euRobotics Technology Transfer Award 2020 for the project ” The qb SoftHand Industry: A Collaborative Robotic Hand for industrial applications”.

qbrobotics has been awarded by the Pisa Chamber of Commerce with the “Innovation Award 2019”, recognition reserved for local businesses that have innovated processes, products or new business formulas. The awarded project is the one that led to the development of the collaborative robotic hand “qb SoftHand Industry”.

The selection was made by a technical committee, composed by the president of the Chamber of Commerce and representatives of the academic world, the economy and innovation experts and led to the recognition of the activity that qbrobotics has carried out in recent years. The contribution provided by the company to the development of the territory is based on highly innovative processes, necessary to compete on increasingly globalized markets and ensure business success.

The reasons that led to the recognition were read during the award ceremony held on January 31, 2020 at the Pisa Chamber of Commerce by the President Dr. Tamburini and the General Manager Dr. Martelli:

“The company was awarded for developing and marketing the ‘qb SoftHand‘ product line, transforming its business model from a research and development company to a production company. The qs SoftHand products, derived from the study of the principles of human motor control, tend to replicate the movement of the human hand thanks to a tendon system operated by a single motor. The robotic hands of QB are used in various sectors, from applications in ‘Industry 4.0’ production to use in the areas of scientific research and the educational sector“

The Certificate Seal of Excellence has been delivered by the European Commission, as the institution managing Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation 2014-2020.

The project awarded is the proposal 880955, CoHand Industrializing Soft Collaborative End-Effectors for Collaborative Robots Submitted under the Horizon 2020’s SME instrument phase 2 call H2020-EIC-SMEInst-2018-2020 (H2020-SMEInst-2018-2020-2) of 5 June 2019 in the area of EIC-SMEInst-2018-2020 SME instrument submitted by qbrobotics.

Following evaluation by an international panel of independent experts, the project “was scored as a high-quality project proposal in a highly competitive evaluation process” and the proposal is recommended for funding.

Team CoAware from the IIT – Italian Institute of Technology wins the KUKA Innovation Award 2018!
The team demonstrated how motion and ergonomics can be monitored and optimized in real time through a dynamic model – based on a KUKA LBR iiwa and proprietary software. Thanks to the use of the qb SoftHand Research, the lightweight independently gripped for objects such as a metallic cylinder and led it to a worker who could then handle the workpiece ergonomically using a polishing machine.

qbrobotics has been awarded the Tuscany Innovation Prize, ranking first in the innovative start-up category, for the development of high innovative products and for having contributed to the development of the Tuscan territory through the spread of the soft-robotics technology in the fields of service, industrial and biomedical robotics.

The QB – UNIPI – IIT Team earned the top award at this year’s Robotic grasping and Manipulation Competition, that took place in Daejeon, Korea during the International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS). The team was asked to control their robotic hand through two different tracks, respectively Hand-in-hand grasping and Fully autonomous: each track consisted in different tasks that had to be completed in a limited time frame.
